Linseed oil is a natural and protective undercoat for wood and timber. It can also be used to prime internal plasters before solvent-based paints like Dekoral Emakol.
- Enhances natural wood colour
- Absorbs deep into the wood (doesn’t create a visible layer)
- Protects against moisture
Substrate preparation
The surface should be even, clean and free of dust. When in doubt remove dust and clean with a solvent.
Painting
Use diluted 1:1 with phthalic solvent. Mix well, apply with a brush on a porous substrate until it stops absorbing oil. When priming large or very absorbtive substrates you can spray it on with the aggregate. After the surface is fully dry (min. 24-48h) sand the surface with the sandpaper. On this surface you can apply various silvent-based undercoats and varnishes. Use phthalic solvent for cleaning tools.
